What changes are you noticing?

Fine lines, changing firmness, and uneven texture can prompt questions about anti-aging peptides. Start by understanding your concerns and the options available to address them.

GHK-Cu benefits:

  • 2x Boost Collagen production: GHK-Cu has increased collagen synthesis in laboratory fibroblast studies.
  • Fine lines & wrinkles by 55%: A small study of a topical GHK-Cu serum reported improved wrinkle measurements; it did not test injections. View study.
  • Promote Hair growth: Discuss thinning hair and understand your options.
  • Accelerate Wound healing: GHK-Cu formulations have been studied in animal wound models; those findings do not establish faster healing in people receiving injections. View study.

THE COPPER PEPTIDE, EXPLAINED

What is GHK-Cu?

GHK is a small chain of three amino acids: glycine, histidine, and lysine. It binds copper to form the complex known as GHK-Cu. The GHK peptide has been isolated from human plasma and studied in models of connective-tissue biology.[1]

Interest in copper peptides comes partly from research on collagen and tissue remodeling. Several studies show indications that it will improve a person’s skin.

The available formats. As topical cream, microneedle-assisted application, and as an injection intervention. Their results and safety profiles may varies.

Understanding the evidence

LABORATORY RESEARCH

Collagen biology

In a fibroblast-culture study, it was shown that there was an increased collagen synthesis after GHK-Cu exposure.[1]

What about hair follicle repair? Studies show copper-peptide also helps in hair regrowth.[4]

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

GHK-Cu frequently asked questions

GHK-Cu is a copper-bound complex of the three-amino-acid peptide glycine-histidine-lysine. It has been studied in skin and connective-tissue research. The meaning of a research finding depends on the formulation, route, and study design.

Topicals are applied to the skin; injections deliver a product through a needle. These routes have different exposure and safety considerations. A topical product’s study results cannot establish an injectable product’s benefits.

Laboratory and topical research has generated interest in copper peptides. That evidence does not establish that GHK-Cu injections will improve wrinkles, firmness, or elasticity. Ask about evidence specific to the proposed product and route; improvement should not be guaranteed.

No. GHK-Cu is a copper-peptide complex. Botulinum toxin products and dermal fillers are different types of treatments with different mechanisms and indications. They should not be presented as interchangeable.

Hair follicle repair or regrowth with Copper peptides are reported.  Hair thinning deserves an assessment of its possible causes and appropriate options. Consult Dr Lolachi today.

Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. A prescription does not make a compounded drug FDA-approved. The FDA compounding document cited above lists GHK-Cu under evaluation only for non-injectable routes; this does not establish injectable compounding eligibility.

Ask about immune reactions, product quality and sterility, injection-related risks, and uncertainty about longer-term effects. FDA specifically notes aggregation and peptide-related impurities as concerns for compounded injectable GHK-Cu. A clinician should explain risks relevant to the exact product and your history.

There is no universal schedule or results timeline established by the all the studies, the results varies by individuals. Ask the physician about the basis for any proposed course and how it would be assessed.

Please call 310-371-9900 for current consultation fees and any applicable treatment pricing. Ask what is included, whether follow-up is charged separately, and when you will receive an estimate.
